The posted family portrait includes Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, in addition to Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Lady Jane Fellowes, Prince William and Kate Middleton.
This image was posted on the Sussex family official Instagram, and was captioned, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son.”
While this snub is unfortunate for grandfather Thomas Markle, it does have some validity. The Duchess cut ties with her father after a photo leaking scandal just days before the royal wedding.
As pictured above, Mr. Markle was believed to have staged paparazzi images of himself while getting ready for the wedding. Although Meghan’s step-sister later took the blame for this, it still prevented Mr. Markle from walking his daughter down the aisle on her wedding day.
The “frozen out” father has since reported that his daughter will not return his messages and calls as a result of the wedding scandal. Therefore, it is no big surprise that he was missing from the christening’s guest list.
Overall, we are just glad Thomas Markle wishes the best for his grandson and family. There’s no telling if baby Archie will get to interact with his grandfather one day.
