The Duchess of Sussex has made a big mark in the fashion world this week. Just a few days after the announcement of her Vogue collaboration, it has gone public that Meghan Markle is launching a charity clothing line later this year. You need to see this.
According to royal reporter Omid Scobie, Meghan broke the news of her upcoming clothing line in her issue of Vogue.
As Scobie explains, her clothing line will be sold on a “one-for-one basis” with 100% of profits supporting the charity Smart Works. In fact, Smart Works is one of her royal patronages. The charity supports unemployed women by giving them work clothing to support professional success.
Meghan also visited Smart Works in January. While she was there she commented, “It’s not just donating your clothes and seeing where they land, it’s really being part of each other’s success stories as women.”
Additionally, the Duchess of Sussex has accumulated a very impressive group of supporters for her clothing line. She has many impressive collaborators on the collection. The list includes her good friend Misha Nonoo, British department stores John Lewis and Marks & Spencer, and even the technology incubator Jigsaw.
Smart Works has already grown rapidly since Meghan’s involvement. When looking to the “Markle Sparkle” where clothing Meghan wears and supports immediately sells out, we have high hopes for her clothing line.
