At one time the cottage had as many as 10 bedrooms for various royal staff members. With renovations complete, the single-family home now has five bedrooms, a renovated kitchen, new bathrooms and updated, eco-conscious heating and electrical systems throughout. Attention was especially considered to preserve historic elements including fireplaces, floorboards, doors and moldings.
Meghan was very careful to use eco-friendly and non-toxic resources in the new nursery. Vegan paints and organic fabrics were chosen in neutral colors and natural materials. Additionally, state-of-the-art security features, a surround-sound system, and modern lighting were all part of the overall design.
Meghan has spoken frequently about her daily routine of meditation and yoga. (Mom, Doria Ragland, is a yoga teacher.) Since their marriage, Harry has also adopted Meghan’s healthier lifestyle. Their new home includes an exercise room and yoga studio for the family.
