Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal baby has been kept out of the public eye since birth — until yesterday. Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened on July 6, 2019 in a private ceremony, held at Windsor Castle’s private chapel. And the baby Archie christening photos have finally been released.
Most details were kept private, but the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have released the official portraits of the special day. Among the attendees were the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Prince William and Duchess Kate), Princess Diana’s sisters, and baby Archie’s mystery godparents — not pictured.

Okay, it was a replica — but the traditional outfit on this little royal was an exact copy of the one worn by Queen Victoria’s first child in 1841. The style has since been worn by a host of royal babies, including Archie’s cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Among the small selection of honored guests were Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale, sisters of the late Princess Diana. According to Archie’s birth announcement, they were two of the first relatives to learn about the newest addition to the family.
And that’s not all: The green and gold couch in the portraits was the same one used by Princess Diana in Prince Harry’s christening. With her sisters there, and this sweet nod to her own pictures, Diana’s memory is being kept alive.
