Her mother’s many charitable and philanthropic efforts greatly influenced the Duchess of Sussex as a child, encouraging the development of a strong social conscience. During Meghan’s childhood, Doria did things such as buying and donating turkeys to homeless shelters so that people without homes could have a Thanksgiving dinner. She also delivered meals to hospice patients.
